A vital day of practice and qualifying has dawned at Spa-Francorchamps as the atmosphere builds for the second round of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship tomorrow.

Friday will see the third and final Free Practice session scheduled for 10.25 this morning. Then this afternoon the first points of the weekend will be on offer as the two 25-minute qualifying sessions, split for LMP and GTE cars, begins at 14.50 local time.

With the weather forecast to be dry for the majority of the day, the teams will be hard at work strategizing their tyre allocation and plotting to start tomorrow’s race in the best possible position.

Porsche is hungry to avenge Toyota after the Japanese manufacturer won the first round last month. LMP2 is wide open, while both the LMGTE classes see multi-manufacturer battles throughout the entry list.

The fans have started to filter into the circuit early to get the best viewing positions at one of the greatest circuits in the world, and the Fan Village will spring into action with plenty on offer for the whole family.

With a quality support programme including the World Series Formula V8 3.5 single-seaters, the TCR International series and the French and Benelux Porsche Carrera Cup, there will be a feast of on-track action to witness.
