Driving the #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS 050 HYBRID, Kamui Kobayashi set a blistering pace to lap 0.5s quicker than Timo Bernhard in the #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid.

Jean-Eric Vergne was quickest for the CEFC Manor TRS squad in LMP2, while in LMGTE Pro Aston Martin sprung a late surprise as Marco Sorensen claimed top spot in the #95 car.

Two red flags punctuated the session caused by separate incidents involving Kevin Estre and David Heinemeier-Hansson.
