Shanghai welcomes home Jackie Chan DC Racing in style

Just days before this weekend’s 6 Hours of Shanghai, the Jackie Chan DC Racing team was last night feted for its achievements at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and looked ahead to its home race.

Just days before this weekend’s 6 Hours of Shanghai, the penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Jackie Chan DC Racing team was last night feted for its achievements at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and looked ahead to its home race.

Overlooking the famous Bund in central Shanghai, an esteemed audience included President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), Pierre Fillon, CEO of the WEC Gérard Neveu, General Manager of the Shanghai International Circuit Shuwei Wang, Leader of the Shanghai Jiading District Tourism Bureau, Mrs Jian Hua Feng, and all six drivers from Jackie Chan DC Racing including David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung.

All present spoke warmly of the achievements and fantastic performance of the team in finishing 2nd overall at Le Mans, and winning the LMP2 class, and of the now firmly established endurance racing links between the WEC, France and China.

Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation to the drivers of a specially commissioned plaque commemorating their success.  Through the means of six different panels, the artists (from Shanghai) represented the start, driving through the night, driver changes, the finish line, passionate fans and the podium and trophy presentations.

Pierre Fillon and Gérard Neveu were equally presented each with a scroll showing a screen print of the plaque.

Jackie Chan DC Racing is currently leading the LMP2 points classification for the FIA World Endurance Teams Trophy and theoretically could secure the title this weekend.
