24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary Trophy revealed
24 Hours of Le Mans Trophy shown at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
2023 will be the centenary year of the World’s greatest endurance race – the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and in the build-up to this historic event the Centenary Trophy for the jewel in the crown of the FIA World Endurance Championship has been revealed.
Using the occasion of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Saturday 20th August, the prestigious piece, which is made of bronze and stands more than one-and-a-half metres tall, was unveiled with the support of FIA World Endurance Championship partner Rolex.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest, founder and organiser of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, teamed up with the Monnaie de Paris – the Paris Mint, France’s oldest institution – to create this one-off trophy that will be awarded to the winners of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans which will take place on June 11-12 2023.
The unveiling of this unique piece marks the start of the centenary celebrations with the Centenary Trophy set to be displayed at locations and high-profile fixtures around the world.
The Centenary Trophy will be seen at the season finale of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship 8 Hours of Bahrain on November 10-12.
