The pit lane is a strategic area where endurance races can be won and lost. At Le Mans, sixty cars stop here to refuel, change tyres and switch drivers. Each action is scrupulously prepared beforehand to allow teams to save time.
Unlike some championships, there is no minimum pit stop time in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). The race to refuel and fit new tyres is a key operation where crews can shave off precious seconds that can make all the difference at crucial moments.
