24H Le Mans: Status quo maintained in second qualifying
20/06/2013

The No.2 Audi Sport Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro of Kristensen, Duval and McNish remains at the top of the time sheets after the first two hours of track action today.  Having been dry all day, just 15 minutes before the green flag was due to drop at 19:00h, the heavens opened and the track was drenched.  This meant that the leading times have not changed since yesterday evening’s first qualifying session.

In LMP2 the No.35 of OAK Racing (Pla-Heinemeier Hannson-Brundle) holds its place at the head of the 22 car entry in the category.  The No.41 Caterham-supported Greaves Motorsport Zytek Nissan which was damaged in an incident yesterday has now returned to the track and is making up for lost time.

Aston Martin Racing is still the marque to beat in both LMGTE Pro and Am, the No.99 Vantage V8 of Senna-Bell-Makowiecki leading the way in the Pro category and the No.95 of Poulsen-Simonsen-Nygaard in Am.  The No.57 Ferrari 458 of Krohn Racing hasn’t yet competed today as the team races to get out after yesterday’s unfortunate crash.

The session was ended prematurely once again with a red flag after the No.40 Boutsen Ginion Racing LMP2 car went off, and will re-start at 21:30 to give the teams an additional 30 minutes of much needed track time.
