Scrutineering and admin checks are now underway at the Circuit des 24 Heures in preparation for Sunday’s official test day.
These will continue tomorrow between 0830 – 1250 hours, verifying that all 61 cars present at Le Mans this weekend comply with the regulations, and that the teams and drivers have all the permissions and paperwork necessary.
The test is open to entrants for the 24 Hours of Le Mans plus manufacturers’ cars which are undergoing development (the fourth Audi R18 e-tron quattro tyre testing for Michelin is an example of this). Also accepted at the test day are entrants in the ACO-sanctioned series around the world – the European Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Series.
The public roads which make up a substantial part of the 13.629km circuit will be closed to traffic at 0400h on Sunday in preparation for when the track opens at 0900h. Eight hours of practice will take place, finishing at 1800h and the public roads will re-open soon after.
Entrance to the circuit is free to spectators all weekend.
