6 Hours of Shanghai TV: Championship crowns to be claimed - not to be missed on TV
Title battles will be coming to a head in the FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend in the second of the two-round visit to the Far East - the 6 Hours of Shanghai - and it's all available on a TV screen near you.
Title battles will be coming to a head in the FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend in the second of the two-round visit to the Far East. The outcome of the 6 Hours of Shanghai in China will likely see World Endurance Champions crowned, and title battles in other classes brought to a head.
The increasing interest in motorsport, and endurance racing in particular, has been helped enormously by the patronage of global movie and entertainment star Jackie Chan. The weather is due to be fine and warm all week which will allow for non-stop action and top class racing throughout the field.
The eighth round of the 2017 season takes place on Sunday 5 November at Shanghai International Circuit in the suburbs of China’s biggest city and financial hub.

Asia Pacific
China’s Sina.com and TenCent channel’s coverage of the its home round, 6 Hours of Shanghai, will be live and direct, following the fortunes of the 26 competitors but especially the two LMP2 teams – Jackie Chan DC Racing and CEFC Manor TRS Racing. Also of interest to viewers from the Asian arena will be Clearwater Racing from Singapore, competing for honours in the LMGTE Am category.
Japan’s J Sports JS4 channel will show the full race live, full interest maintained following Toyota’s win in Fuji, with highlights also being shown on the free-to-air BS Fuji channel later in November. Eurosport in Australia will show full coverage of the 6 Hours of Shanghai, with New Zealand broadcasting a highlights package three days after the race in the hope of seeing Brendon Hartley and Earl Bamber crowned as World Endurance Champions!
Europe
Pan Europe, Motorsport.tv once again leads the way with the whole race being shown live across Europe as well as in France and the UK, while Eurosport will air the final 90 minutes of the race and podium ceremonies across its European network.
The free-to-air Sport 1 channel in Germany will show key hours of the race live and direct, as will La Chaine L’Equipe in France, with additional full live coverage in Austria (ORF Sport) and on TV2 in Denmark. Further race broadcasts will air (not live) in Belgium (RTBF), Netherlands (RTL 7 and Ziggo Sport), and United Kingdom (BT Sport and ITV4) – check the TV distribution list for updates and exact timings, where given.
The Americas
FOX Sports in North America, Canada and the Caribbean will show the full race live across its TV and internet channels, with the first three hours being shown on FS2 and the second half on FS1. Meanwhile, FOX International’s live coverage on FS3 in Central and South America brings the WEC closer to its 59 million households, with Mexico’s Roberto Gonzalez and Argentina’s José Maria Lopez attracting much interest.
Rest of the World
BEIN Sports from the Middle East region will show the race live (details to be confirmed) as the championship looks forward to its finale in Bahrain later this month, while SuperSport’s Pan Africa highlights of the WEC event will be shown the week following the race.
Commentary in English will be available on all live transmissions and official WEC highlights shows plus on the FIA WEC App, with Martin Haven, Graham Goodwin and Louise Beckett bringing all the excitement and action to viewers live from Shanghai.
