6H Monza FP3: Peugeot Leads in FP3 at Monza; JOTA top times in LMP2; Porsche 1-2 in LMGTE
Below are the main headlines from the final practice session at WEC 6 Hours of Monza, round five of FIA WEC
Hypercar
- Jean-Eric Vergne puts Peugeot TotalEnergies on top in FP3 at Monza after setting a best time of 1m35.878s in the No.93 Peugeot 9X8 Hybrid Hypercar
- Vergne sets his best lap early to outpace the No.50 AF Corse Ferrari 499P by a slender 0.045s
- Peugeot also place third as Gustavo Menezes paces the No.94 9X8 as the Lion starts to roar at Monza
- No.51 Ferrari AF Corse places fourth as Antonio Giovinazzi sets best time in Le Mans winning car. Top four are covered by just 0.3s
- Cadillac Racing continues strong Monza practice form as Alex Lynn puts the blue V-Series.R Hypercar in fifth position
- Hertz Team JOTA takes sixth as Yifei Ye claims best time in gold Porsche 963 Hypercar
- The other customer Porsche 963, the new Proton Competition entered car, is seventh as Harry Tincknell
- No.7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar finishes 60-minute session in eighth place ahead of the No.5 Porsche Penske 963 in ninth
- Glickenhaus Racing takes 10th ahead of the No.8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid
- Floyd Vanwall and No.6 Porsche Penske car complete Hypercar runners

LMP2
- Pietro Fittipaldi scorches to the fastest time in LMP2 for Jota setting a best lap of 1m39.621s
- The Brazilian laps 0.2s faster than Vector Sports Gabriel Aubry who in turn is just 0.015s ahead of the No.36 Alpine ELF Team Oreca-Gibson driven by Charles Milesi
- Robert Kubica again sets the fastest lap for the No.41 Team WRT entry as they place fourth
- No.35 Alpine ELF Team entry take fifth place as Oli Caldwell completes best lap
- No.22 United Autosports entry completes top six as Phil Hanson sets best lap to ensure that the top six is covered by just 0.5s
LMGTE Am
- Matteo Cairoli controls the pace in LMGTE Am by setting a 1m46.762s in No.56 Project 1 AO Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19
- Cairoli's time is 0.2s quicker than the similar Porsche driven by Mikkel Pedersen in the No.77 Dempsey Proton car
- Highest placed Ferrari is the No.60 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE Evo as Alessio Picariello sets time for third fastest
- GR Racing places fourth ahead of the AF Corse Ferrari driven by Davide Rigon
- Champions elect Corvette Racing place a lowly 11th in session, which sees Nicolas Varrone have a gravelly excursion at the Parabolica midway through the session
