With the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps WEC very much being viewed by teams as a final dress rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the use of Audi and Toyota’s hybrid power systems will be brought more and more into the spotlight.
As is the case at every round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, specified ‘braking zones’ are determined for each circuit, at which the energy recuperation hybrid technology can be employed.
For 7km Spa-Francorchamps circuit, host to the second round of the championship, the five pre-determined braking zones will be at Turns 1, 5, 8, 12 and 18. The entry of each zone will be considered at the 50m board before the curve.
