The FIA Endurance Committee last week issued a revised Balance of Performance (BoP) for LMGTE cars in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with Porsche and Aston Martin both likely to profit from the adjustments.
The LMGTE Pro Porsche 911 RSR gets a 15kg weight break (now 1233kg), and a 0.2mm increase in the size of its air restrictor ahead of the 6 Hours of Nürburgring, taking place this weekend (24 July).
The Aston Martin Vantage V8 GTE will have -20kg plus a 0.4mm larger air restrictor, as it used at Spa, and must use its Aero Kit ‘C’ which is a homologated high downforce aero package.
No changes have been made to either the Ferrari 488 GT or the Ford GT which dominated Le Mans, and both marques will use the same BoP settings issued just before the Le Mans 24 Hours. The Ford and Ferrari will race at 1248kg and 1268kg respectively.
In LMGTE Am the only changes compared to Spa are -5kg for the Porsche 911 RSR and +5kg for the Ferrari 458 Italia.
