Colour, first class access and cracking entertainment – it’s all at the 6 Hours of Shanghai!
03/11/2016

This weekend’s 6 Hours of Shanghai, on track from 4-6th November, takes place at the impressive Shanghai International Circuit and the event is becoming increasingly popular with Chinese fans as their knowledge of sportscar racing increases.   Every year there is plenty of action or drama to entertain spectators and viewers, often with unpredictable weather conditions to shake things up further.  The excellent level of entertainment offered by the FIA World Endurance Championship at all its rounds is something which is also becoming more and more popular in the world’s most populous city.

There will be a special fan area located behind the main grandstand on the front straight, plus a variety of attractions to suit families and visitors of all ages including the chance to see and greet all the drivers at a special autograph session.

Meet the Drivers

On Sunday morning at 09:15 fans will have an opportunity to get an autograph, grab a ‘selfie’ or just shake hands with their favourite drivers during a 30 minute autograph session – it’s all part of the show.  You will have to be quick though to get all of them!

WEC Fan Area

Distribution of goodies, merchandise and a photo booth to get a great souvenir of you and your friends’ or family’s visit.

Racing simulators

Do you think you are the next Mark Webber, Ho-Pin Tung or David Cheng?  Now you can see how you match up against them on a lap of Shanghai on a racing simulator.  Many of today’s drivers use simulators to prepare for new tracks, or even each round, and now you can put yourself in their shoes!

Manufacturers Area

See the latest models and some classic designs at the Manufacturers’ showcase where the biggest names in the auto world converge to display some glittering machinery and also to inform about the latest engineering trends.  China is a huge market for all in the automotive industry, especially the WEC’s partners.

Tequila Patrón activation

If you are lucky enough not to be driving home, then why not come along and taste some of Tequila Patrón’s amazing products.  There’s a lot more than you would imagine, and some amazing cocktails to be tried.

Take your seats – it’s all happening on the grid

As the minutes tick down towards the start of the race itself at 11:00 on Sunday, fans will be treated to a martial arts show, flag jugglers, lion dancers, and VOCAL FORCE – a local group present to sing “Our Shanghai” and the Chinese national anthem.

THE 6 HOURS OF SHANGHAI

Following a round which thrilled fans from flag to flag, and finished with only 1.4 seconds between the first and second placed cars, all attention will be on the penultimate race in the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship at Shanghai International Circuit, taking place on Sunday 6 November.  Porsche is looking to wrap up a second consecutive World Championship title, while Audi and Toyota will be determined to prevent that from happening and extend their own victory tally.

The race in Shanghai, with a challenging layout and often unpredictable November weather, offers excitement, drama and great racing.  This year there will be 31 cars taking the start for the fifth edition of the 6 Hours of Shanghai, with eight in LMP1, 10 in LMP2, seven in LMGTE Pro and six in the LMGTE Am class.
