The fans got up close and personal to their heroes at the drivers autograph session at the Circuit of the Americas this morning.
Dan Engberson and his son Andrew made the four hour trip from Dallas to meet their favourite drivers and were bubbling with enthusiasm for this evenings 6 Hours of Circuit of Americas race, which will burst in to action at 17.00 local time.
“We love the access we have to the drivers and we love the cars in this championship,” said Mr Engberson. “My son Andrew has already been on one of the simulators here and has some talent. He loves the Porsches and the Corvettes. We will be rooting for them later today.
“I must say that the FIA WEC app has been valuable for us. What I really like about it is that it uses images of the cars next to the data so you can follow the race real easy,” he continued.
There was no doubt who they were looking forward to meeting as they queued up at the Porsche autograph table.
“Marc Webber is the man for us. A great driver and a real personality. We love watching him race.”
