FIA WEC Entry List for Le Castellet Test

The entry list for the official FIA WEC test at Paul Ricard has been released.  Twenty-one cars of the thirty-five entered for the first race, the 6 Hours of Silverstone, travelling to the South of France for the two day test on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 March.

Rebellion Racing and Strakka Racing will represent the LMP1 grid, with Nico Prost, Neel Jani and Nick Heidfeld sharing the driving duties in Rebellion’s championship winning Lola-Toyota, while Nick Leventis, Danny Watts and Jonny Kane will test the HPD-Honda for the all British Strakka Racing team on the full 5.7km Le Castellet track.  Audi Sport Team Joest and Toyota Racing will both be absent from Paul Ricard as Audi will be staying on in Florida to test following the 12 Hours of Sebring and Toyota are conducting private tests.

An almost full grid of LMP2 cars will grace the event, with nine cars taking part.  Oak Racing will field three Morgan Nissans, including the nr45 car that will participate at Silverstone on a race by race basis.  The newly announced Nissan partnership with G-Drive and Delta ADR means both cars will be at Le Castellet for the test and will give Russian driver Roman Rusinov a chance to get to know his new team.  Lotus will bring both of their new T128s, with HVM Status GP testing there Lola-Judd for Jonathan Kennard and 2012 race winners Pecom Racing will test their Oreca Nissan with last year’s line-up of drivers.

With their LMGTE Pro car racing at Sebring Aston Martin Racing will only bring their Am car to the test.  AF Corse and Porsche AG Team Manthey will each field one of their Pro spec cars at Paul Ricard, with the Ferrari team still to confirm which of their drivers will take part.  Team Manthey will bring Jorg Bergmeister, Patrick Pilet and Timo Bernhard to share the driving duties in the new Porsche 911 RSR.

Seven LMGTE Am cars will be in the South of France with reigning champions Larbre Competition putting Patrick Bornhauser, Julien Canal and Fernando Rees behind the wheel.  AF Corse and 8 Star Motorsports will each bring their Ferrari 458.  Aston Martin Racing will bring the nr96 Vantage, while Proton Competition and IMSA Performance Matmut will field four Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs, with two cars for each team.
