THE 6 HOURS OF NURBURGRING
After the excitement and drama of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which saw Porsche take its first WEC victory of 2015 and KCMG, AF Corse and SMP Racing claim maximum points in the other three classes (LMP2, LMGTE Pro and Am respectively), the championship title races have been thrown open for the second half of the season. The focus now turns to the next round of the World Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring which takes place on Sunday 30 August.
This will be the first time the WEC has raced in Germany and interest is high, with the Audi, Porsche and Toyota LMP1 factory teams all either German or based in the country – the latter being in Köln which is less than an hour from the track. In total there will be 31 cars on the grid for the fourth round of the 2015 season with nine in LMP1, eight in LMP2 and seven in both the LMGTE Pro and Am classes.
