How and where to watch the 1000 Miles of Sebring
The 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship will get underway later this week with the season-opening 1000 Miles of Sebring (Friday 17 March) and below is all you need to know about how and where to watch the first race.
All action from Free Practice 3 will be live across YouTube for all fans to watch for free.
EUROPE
Eurosport is one of the WEC’s main television broadcasters this season and will show the first race of 2023 across Europe including the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain where the full eight-hour race will be shown on Eurosport 1.
The live coverage in Europe will commence at 4.30pm (CET).
Free-to-air La Chaine L’Equipe returns as a WEC broadcaster for 2023 and will show parts of the majority of the race live to fans who are residents in France.
For those living in Italy and eagerly waiting to see Ferrari make its highly-anticipated return to the top-class of endurance racing, fans can watch the action on Sky Sport Arena (17:00 – 20:30) and Sky Sport 253 channel (full race live)
Meanwhile, Germany – the home of Porsche which enters the WEC’s headline Hypercar class this year – will show the races via free-to-air channel RTL Nitro.
Robert Kubica fans can watch in Poland on Polsat Sport while RTL7 will show the action live in the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Elsewhere, Belgium will broadcast WEC on Sport 10 and in Denmark, the action will be shown live on TV 2 Play and last two hours on TV2 Sport X.
The race action will also be available live online on several platforms including a deal with Discovery+ in the UK, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Netherlands as well as on Eurosport Player.
Finally, for a small price of 6.99 Euros, all WEC action is also available via the official FIA WEC app which includes commentary from experts Anthony Davidson, Martin Haven, Graham Goodwin and Louise Beckett.
USA + CANADA + THE AMERICAS
For the American fans who are unable to attend Sebring in person, automotive platform MotorTrend will exclusively show the entire race live across the USA.
In Canada, pay TV channel Discovery Velocity will have the rights to the coverage.
For South America, Direct TV Sports will broadcast the WEC on Channel 616 and 1616 while Fox Sports will show the race action in Mexico.
ASIA + AUSTRALASIA
Similar to Europe, there will be a pan-Asian TV deal with Eurosport for the continent of Asia where the WEC will be shown live on Eurosport Asia.
Japan – the home of reigning World Champions Toyota Gazoo Racing – will see broadcaster JJ Sports show the full race live on JSports3 while free-to-air channel Go! will televise the WEC in Australia. In New Zealand, Sky Sport 5 will broadcast at 04:30 local time. Online platform WeChat will cover the races in China this year.
AFRICA
Long-term WEC broadcast partner SuperSport will be the home for the WEC this season for all residents living in Sub-Saharan Africa with Sebring being showing the full race live on VR2/VR2A.
MIDDLE EAST
Broadcaster SSC is confirmed as the official broadcast for the Middle East region with a selection of live and highlights coverage throughout the season.
OFFICIAL FIA WEC APP
FIAWEC.TV will broadcast all race action from the 2023 season live on its online platform. This is available worldwide (excluding USA as the MotorTrend platform will show the race exclusively). Individual race packages are available to buy for 6.99 Euros (WEC races and 12.99 Euros for the 24 Hours of Le Mans) or fans can purchase a full season pass for 39,99 Euros Available on the app will be qualifying, race replays and full English commentary from experts Anthony Davidson, Martin Haven, Graham Goodwin as well as pitlane reporter, Louise Beckett.
