How do WEC drivers celebrate Christmas? Anthony Davidson
With only a few days to go until Christmas, FIAWEC.com has been speaking to various FIA WEC drivers to find out how they will be spending the festive season and what their Christmas traditions are.
Next in our series, we have 2014 WEC World Champion Anthony Davidson who recently announced his retirement from driving. Here’s what the legendary British driver had to tell us…
1. How will you be spending Christmas this year?
“I will be spending it at home with my family”
2. Do you have any family traditions?
“Putting up the Christmas tree with Christmas songs on in the background and mince pies plus a cup of tea on the go! Also, sausage rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning.”
3. What do you eat on Christmas day?
"Traditional turkey dinner followed by Christmas pudding and lots of custard!”
4. What is your favourite thing about Christmas ?
“That’s an easy one for me - spending time with family.”
5. What has been your most memorable present?
“I can't remember… clearly memorable!”
6. If you could spend Christmas with two other WEC drivers, who would they be and why (you're not allowed to pick your teammates!)
“Tom Kristensen (because he might like to share one of his 9 Le Mans winning watches with me…? ) and Yannick Dalmas- so that I can spend time trying to convince him to call me Anthony, instead of David!”
7. You get a new car as a surprise Christmas gift.…. What is it?
“My championship winning TS040”
8. Will you have any New Year's Resolutions?
“Resist the temptation to get an international racing licence!”
