Jakobsen to replace Mueller at Peugeot for 2025
It was confirmed by Peugeot TotalEnergies via their social media channels today that Nico Mueller will depart the team at the end of the 2024 FIA WEC season.
Switzerland’s Nico Mueller currently drives alongside Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Eric Vergne in the No. 93 Peugeot 9X8 and will do so for the remainder of the 2024 season. Replacing Mueller will be the team's official reserve driver, Malthe Jakobsen.
Jakobsen is currently competing in ELMS as part of Cool Racing's LMP2 outfit where he and his team-mates won the season-opener in Barcelona. On his promotion to team driver, the 20-year-old Danish driver commented: “I’m very proud to have been part of this team for the last two years, first as junior driver and then this year as reserve driver. Thanks to all the team for giving me this great opportunity.”
It has been a wild ride @nico_mueller and it isn’t over just yet. But at the end of the season, our favorite Swiss driver will leave Team Peugeot TotalEnergies to write a new chapter of his racing journey.

Mueller and the No. 93 crew posted their best result of the year so far for the French manufacturer after finishing last weekend’s Rolex 6 Hours of Sao Paulo in eighth position.
