LMGTE Pro finale Stat Attack Pt2

The Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the final race in the FIA World Endurance Championship for the LMGTE Pro category.

We have a little look at the numbers…

Most successful manufacturers

Ferrari has achieved the most podium finishes in GTE Pro, with AF Corse (86), Luxury Racing (2), JMW Motorsport (1) and Risi Competizione (1) combining for 90 podiums.

Aston Martin scored the best win-podium finish rate, with 19 of their 44 podiums being on the top step (43%).

Five marques – Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Ford and Corvette all experienced a ‘home’ race, and all visited the podium in their country of origin.

Six of the seven GTE Pro marques (not SRT) visited the podium more than once.

Ferrari have won the manufacturers’ title six times, missing out only in 2015, 2018/19 (finished 2nd), and 2019/20 (finished 3rd)

Aston Martin bowed out of GTE Pro in 2019/20, achieving their first manufacturers’ title that season.

Distances
GTE Pro cars have raced for 883,155km in the 77 races to date. 487,116km of this total has come at Le Mans.

107,551 laps of racing have been completed by all GTE Pro cars combined. The most, at 30%, was 32,337 laps by Ferrari teams. The fewest was 607 laps by SRT.

Ferrari teams have completed the most laps at 11 of the 13 WEC circuits, whilst Aston Martin have completed the most at the other two.

Only Ferrari and Porsche competed at all 13 WEC circuits. Aston Martin raced at 11 venues, Ford 10, BMW six and SRT one. Bahrain meanwhile will be Corvette’s 8th different track.

Two GTE Pro teams won at every possible point of the calendar, winning races number 1 through 9 across the 10 seasons. Aston Martin Racing and AF Corse.

Ferrari-Porsche-Ferrari ends the era as the most-common GTE Pro podium order, occurring seven times in total; a number which cannot be equalled. Two of these seven podiums happened in Bahrain, for the first time in 2013, and the 6th at the 2021 season finale. The podium occurred most recently at Spa 2022.

AF Corse has scored 15 podium finishes in GTE Pro in Bahrain, the most of any team in the class, at any circuit. These include the closest-ever GTE Pro finish, which saw #71 beat #51 by just 0.174 seconds.

Seven marques competed in GTE Pro – Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, SRT/Viper, Ford and BMW

Cars wearing 12 different numbers won in GTE Pro – ranging from #51 to #99. Aston Martin (#95, #97, #99), Ford (#66, #67, #68) and Porsche (#77, #91, #92) won with three numbers each, Ferrari two (#51, #71), and Corvette one (#64).

Over the years at Le Mans in GTE Pro, Ford entered 16 cars, whilst Aston Martin entered 18 cars. Ford would end up covering just 16 laps more than Aston Martin. The marques each scored 1 win when competing against each other.

113 drivers competed in GTE Pro, representing 25 countries on five continents. Five nations saw 10+ of their drivers compete in the class: Great Britain (20), Germany (13), Italy, USA (11) and France (10)
