6 Hours of COTA: Lone Star Le Mans ready to thrill in Texas with extensive TV coverage

The FIA World Endurance Championship arrives in Texas direct from Mexico City for the fifth running of Lone Star Le Mans - a celebration of world class, European style endurance racing, an action-packed timetable of stars and cars, and the promise of wall-to-wall sunshine!

The sixth round of the 2017 season takes place on Saturday 16 September at the impressive Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in south eastern Austin and, for the first time in several years, the race will be held during the day instead of going into the night.

The Americas

FOX Sports in North America will show the full race live across its TV and internet channels, with the first three hours being shown on FS GO and the final 2.5 hours on FS2.  In addition, the final hour will be shown delayed on FS1 guaranteeing an extensive viewing experience for the knowledgeable and passionate US endurance racing fans. California’s Gustavo Menezes is the only American driver in the field this year, but there are plenty of others who have raced extensively in the USA and the entire field can’t wait to take to the COTA track.

Central and South America will once again benefit from FOX International’s live coverage on FS3 of almost the entire race. Drivers among the field of 26 cars from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico will once again be keen to put on a great show for spectators and viewers.

Europe

Motorsport.tv once again leads the Pan-European coverage with the whole race being shown live across Europe as well as in France and the UK, while Eurosport will air several hours of the race live across its European network and in its entirety in France.    

For fans in Germany, the free-to-air Sport 1 channel will show key hours of the race live and direct, as will La Chaine L’Equipe in France, with additional full live coverage in Austria (ORF Sport) and the UK (BT Sport – BTS Extra 3).  Further race coverage (not live) in Belgium (RTBF), Netherlands (RTL and Ziggo Sport), Spain (TVE), Switzerland (SRG SSR) and United Kingdom (ITV4) – check the TV distribution list for updates and exact timings.  

Asia Pacific
As well as Eurosport’s Pan Asia Pacific live coverage, Sina.com and TenCent’s full live race coverage in China is helping to build up to the beginning of November when Chinese fans come to see the mega-famous Jackie Chan team (Jackie Chan DC Racing) and Chinese-sponsored Manor Racing.  The full race is also being shown on Japan’s J Sports channel, while Eurosport will also broadcast live coverage in Australia.

Rest of the World

BEIN Sports from the Middle East region will show the race live (details to be confirmed) while SuperSport’s Pan Africa highlights of the WEC event will be shown the week following the race, with more details from many broadcasters to be confirmed in the coming days.

Commentary in English will be available on all live transmissions and official WEC highlights shows plus on the FIA WEC App, with Allan McNish, Martin Haven, Graham Goodwin and Louise Beckett bringing all the excitement and action to viewers live from Austin.
