The multi-class battles that will be seen in wheel-to-wheel combat this Sunday really begin in the preparatory practice sessions where set-ups are perfected and both qualifying and race stint simulations give at least a pointer to where the form might be.
Porsche and Toyota go head-to-head on what is both home turf for the LMP1 giants. With just 24.5 points separating the two manufacturers in the FIA World Endurance Manufacturers title there is all to play for at the last European round of the 2017 campaign.
LMP2 sees multiple teams in the 11 car field in with a chance of victory this weekend. The LMGTE ranks are sure to see a battle-royal between some of the most glamourous and prestigious manufacturers – Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche. With three of those four having taken victory already this season and a new automated BoP for this race, the expectation is for another super-close contest.
