This time next week the 6 Hours of Silverstone will have officially begun, with two free practice sessions scheduled to take place on Friday 15th April. Silverstone Circuit is gearing up to welcome the Spirit of Le Mans and a new teaser has been produced to whet your appetite!
The 33 cars entered for the season-opener (full entry list HERE) include LMP1 prototypes from the Porsche, Toyota and Audi teams which feature world-leading hybrid technology, and the sleek lines and speed of the LMP1 Privateer entries from ByKolles and Rebellion Racing.
In addition, the strength and diversity of the 8 different teams and 11 entries in the LMP2 class, including WEC newcomers Manor, will ensure battles for supremacy will keep fans watching from start to finish. In LMGTE Ford joins in the fun that Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche have been having over the last few years, and that is guaranteed to spice up the competition, not forgetting the unmistakable sound of the Chevrolet Corvette too.
All the cars and drivers will be opening their accounts towards the 2016 championship titles, and the front-runners will also be competing for the highly prestigious 111-year-old RAC Tourist Trophy which is awarded to the overall winners.
