Fuji Speedway has special significance for the owner of the Dempsey-Proton Racing team as it was the scene of his triumphant LMGTE Am victory in 2015 which, alongside his podium finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year, ranks as the highlight of his motorsport career.
Patrick Dempsey will be in Japan to promote the Dempsey Challenge which is being staged in support of the Dempsey Center charity for the fight against cancer. During this time he will make a film about his win in Japan and take part in a number of events over the weekend as well as mentor the young drivers on his racing team.
To emphasise breast cancer awareness month, which was initiated by the “pink ribbon foundation”, the livery of the No.77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR will be styled pink for the 6 Hours of Fuji.
