Pierre Fillon named as Grand Mashal for Rolex 24 At Daytona

ACO President Pierre Fillon has been named as Grand Marshal for the 59th annual Rolex 24 at Daytona, which will take place in North America from 30-31 January.

Fillon will give the command for drivers to start their engines at Daytona, the iconic race which forms the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opener. First staged in 1962, the race will see several WEC drivers competing including the likes of DragonSpeed’s Juan-Pablo Montoya and United Autosports driver Filipe Albuquerque.

Chip Wile, President of Daytona International Speedway, commented: “Pierre Fillon is an important figure in the history of motorsports, so we are honored to welcome him to be a part of the 59th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. He has been pivotal to the continued growth of endurance racing through his leadership of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest… we look forward to welcoming this titan of motorsport to be a part of the historic legacy of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.”
