Cetilar Racing to take on 2019-20 WEC!
Cetilar Racing has confirmed its plans to enter the LMP2 category of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The Italian team, which previously was known as Cetilar Villorba Corse, has been a regular in the European Le Mans Series in recent seasons.
Cetilar Racing will run a Dallara P217 Gibson with Andrea Belicchi, Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto named as its driver line up. All three drivers have previously competed for the team and Belicchi, particularly, knows the WEC well.
Gerard Neveu, CEO of the WEC, said “We are very pleased to welcome Cetilar Racing to the WEC, and their planned entry to the 2019-2020 season is the perfect demonstration of how a well-established team can move through the formulas to the world stage. Their presence will reinforce our LMP2 grid for next season, and we congratulate everyone involved for making the move to the WEC. Welcome Cetilar Racing!”
New name, new goals... but same team! The Cetilar Racing future is the @FIAWEC 2019-2020 in LMP2 class. In meantime, we are waiting for if @AcoNewsroom will accept our request for the @24hoursoflemans 2019... pic.twitter.com/v3DFoSxzO4
