Strong free-to-air TV coverage for WEC in Europe

Two of the leading sports TV channels in Europe – Sport 1 in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and La Chaine L’Équipe in France – have re-confirmed their commitment to the FIA World Endurance Championship for the Super Season.

Both free-to-air channels have issued information about their renewed contracts to cover the WEC, and their broadcast schedules which are below.  Worldwide TV coverage has been negotiated for the Super Season by rights agency Infront Sports and Media, with 20 full season broadcast partners across the globe including pan-European Eurosport and Motorsport TV and pan Asian giants Eurosport and Fox Sports.

SPORT1 to continue showing FIA ​​WEC on free-to-air TV in Germany

After the successful premiere last year, SPORT1 will continue to present the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship (WEC) in its "Home of Motorsport". Corresponding platform-neutral rights for the 2018/19 season have been secured by Sport1 GmbH from Infront Sports & Media, the WEC’s rights agency.

As in 2017, SPORT1 will follow the full WEC season extensively on its platforms. In addition to live broadcasts and highlight summaries of the long-distance races on free-to-air TV, the races will also be regularly shown in full on SPORT1.de and on the Pay TV channel SPORT1 +.

Interest in endurance racing in Germany goes back a long way, and Sport1 is definitely keeping that passion alive today.”

La Chaine L’Équipe has extended its agreement with the WEC for the 2018-19 Super Season.
