TF Sport targeting wins with new-look LMGT3 line-up for 2025

TF Sport has announced the six drivers that will pilot its pair of Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs in the FIA World Endurance Championship next year, as the team bids to fight for race wins in its sophomore season in the fiercely-contested LMGT3 category.

The British outfit concluded the 2024 campaign with a podium double, as Charlie Eastwood, Tom Van Rompuy and former FIA WEC LMP2 champion Rui Andrade headed up a two-three finish in last month’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain. The trio remain on-board in the #81 car, and will be joined in the #33 TF Sport entry by fellow returnee Daniel Juncadella, who will be partnered by Ben Keating and Jonny Edgar.

“2024 was a building year for us and Corvette Racing that ended with some really positive results for all involved,” reflected team owner, Tom Ferrier. “I think that shows how much hard work and determination went in behind-the-scenes.

“For 2025, we have two really great line-ups and I hope we can be racing at the front right from the start of the year and back where we and Corvette Racing belong. I’m very thankful for the support of GM for making this programme happen. We cannot wait to get going in Qatar!”

Indeed, there are just ten weeks until the forthcoming campaign races into life with the Qatar 1812km on 28 February, and TF Sport’s drivers palpably share Ferrier’s enthusiasm for the challenge that lies ahead.

“I’m happy to be back with the same #81 crew for 2025,” commented Corvette factory driver Eastwood, who has played an important role in the team’s development, as a class-winner in the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years ago and LMP2 Pro-Am champion in the 2022 European Le Mans Series. “We finished 2024 on a high note, with great results and pace in the last few rounds, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into 2025 and get off to a great start from round one.”

“I feel very excited and proud to start another season in the FIA World Endurance Championship with TF Sport, Charlie and Rui,” echoed experienced Belgian, Van Rompuy. “As a team, we made really good progress last year, so our expectations for 2025 are even higher. I know we have a strong and consistent package to fight for good results, and my desire to win is at an all-time high.”

In the sister car, former Formula 1 test-driver, Macau Grand Prix winner and FIA European Formula 3 champion Juncadella – like Eastwood, a Corvette factory driver – might be the only incumbent, but the Spaniard has no doubt that his two new stablemates are more than up to the task.

“We have an exciting project ahead of us,” Juncadella acknowledged. “I’m very happy to stay with TF Sport; I really appreciate the way they work. I think it’s one of the best teams I have ever competed with in customer racing.

“I’m joined by two incredible and talented team-mates. Jonny was outstanding when we tested him in December, and I don’t even need to introduce Ben. He is one of the best, if not the best ‘Bronze’ driver around. I think the combination of the three of us will be very successful. Time will tell, of course, because everything will depend on many other aspects, but I think we have a good chance of achieving great results this year.”

“I’m so excited to be back in the FIA World Endurance Championship family,” added Keating, who sped to both the LMGTE Am class crown and Le Mans glory with the squad in 2022. “I’ve missed all the people and places I have come to love. I’m also thrilled to be back with TF Sport for many of the same reasons. The current Corvette will be a new car for me, but I’m excited to race it!”
