The USA's Stars (and Stripes) return to AF Corse-Waltrip

Following the appearance of an all-Brazilian driver line up at Sao Paulo, the No.61 AF Corse-Waltrip entry will return to its original line up of Robert Kauffman-Brian Vickers-Rui Aguas for the 6 Hours of Bahrain, the sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The trio will be back behind the wheel of the red Ferrari 458 Italia which, in their hands, sports the Stars and Stripes of the USA’s national flag on its sinuous flanks.  Following a fifth place finish in the LMGTE Am category at the 12 Hours of Sebring and a sixth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the North American-Portuguese partnership will be looking for a good result to boost their existing points tally.

For Brian Vickers it is a particularly busy time.  The NASCAR Sprint Cup driver with Michael Waltrip Racing will be coming direct to the Middle East from a race in New Hampshire and, immediately after the 6 Hours of Bahrain, he has to return to the US to help the Robert Kauffman-owned NASCAR team test the 2013 Sprint Cup Toyota at a test in Florida.
