There will be a legend in our midst at Spa-Francorchamps for round two of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend.
Tom Kristensen, nine-time Le Mans winner, 2013 FIA WEC champion and all-round endurance hero will wave the green flag to start the epic contest through the Ardennes forests.
The Rolex ambassador has a rich history of success and drama at Spa. He made his race debut at the Belgian track back in 1991 in Formula 3, and started his last WEC race here in 2014. In between, he stood on the podium for the first time in the 1996 F3000 race, and a final visit to the podium in 2014 when he, Lucas Di Grassi and Loïc Duval finished second.
This Saturday at 14h30 local time Kristensen will wave off some of his former competitors among the many new faces to the WEC as they embark on their own adventure on the world’s most natural and thrilling rollercoaster.
