Top broadcast talent returns for WEC in 2018

The FIA World Endurance Championship is delighted to announce that its top broadcast team of Allan McNish, Martin Haven, Louise Beckett and Graham Goodwin will return to the TV commentary booth for the 2018-2019 Super Season.

Allan McNish, one of the modern greats of endurance racing, established a great rapport with the experienced and knowledgeable Martin Haven in 2017, and the two reunite for all 8 WEC rounds to lead the play-by-play and in-depth technical and sporting analysis that has now become the hallmark of WEC broadcasts.

The former WEC champion and F1 driver brings with him unique insight into the cockpit, team strategy and the mindset of a top driver, and his expert assessments and eagle eye proved to be a big hit with TV viewers everywhere.

Martin Haven needs no introduction to endurance fans far and wide as he has covered this particular discipline for the last 20 years for broadcasters in Europe and the USA, particularly for Eurosport at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  His love of motorsport and the passionate way in which he conveys that is evident in his commentary, and he and McNish struck up an instant and fruitful partnership in the TV booth.

The team will be fully supported by WEC regular Louise Beckett who, in addition to her reporting from the pits during sessions, also gets behind the helmets, visors and sunglasses for more informal interviews with drivers and senior management figures.  Her knowledge, contacts and warm interviewing style never ceases to yield fun and informative results for the FIA WEC App, social media and TV programmes.

As well as covering the whole of the European Le Mans Series, Graham Goodwin will once again be part of the WEC commentary team, providing in depth knowledge, statistics, records, analysis and on- air viewer feedback via social media to the commentary team throughout the 2018 season.

McNish and Haven’s commentaries cover the qualifying session and all races including the two editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  At that event the team will be supplemented by the broadcast and analytical talents of Toby Moody and former WEC driver Karun Chandhok, plus Julian Porter and experienced ex Le Mans racer, Peter Dumbreck.

As well as on screens across the world, the WEC broadcast team’s voices can be found on the FIAWEC App and live on the WEC website.
