Treluyer ruled out in Mexico

Benoit Treluyer will not take part in the 6 Hours of Mexico presented by AT&T this weekend after feeling uncomfortable in the cockpit due to the biking accident which injured his back in July.

The Frenchman’s absence this weekend will mean that Marcel Fassler and Andre Lotterer will again race as a duo this weekend.

Treluyer completed laps in the Free Practice sessions in the No.7 Audi R18 LMP1 car but felt unable to compete at 100% in the race on Saturday.

Treluyer will have to be checked before potentially racing at the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of COTA.

Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich said: “In the race, Benoit needs to be absolutely fit. In agreement with our team physician, we have decided to give Ben more time to recover and to build up his fitness again in order to be one hundred percent fit for the 6-hour race in Austin in two weeks’ time.”
