Welcome to race day! Bright sunshine and a pleasant breeze tempered the already rising mercury on the temperature gauge as the FIA WEC family headed to the Circuit of the Americas this morning.
The fever-pitch anticipation for the sixth round of the 2016 WEC was mirroring the temperature and the expectation is rising all the time as race time (17.00 local time) approaches.
Audi, Porsche and Toyota have all shown that on pace they will be ever so closely matched this evening, so as daylight dims and the atmospheric night drapes the 3.427-mile circuit look for fireworks on the track and also those that will light up the sky at 21.00 local.
With mere hundredths of a second separating the LMGTE Pro class, the ingredients for a classic battle are already in place. Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche are all set to wow the crowds at the track and the viewers on TV for more world class action.
With plenty of off-track entertainments and pre-grid atmosphere the scene will be set for the fourth edition of the Lone star Le Mans race.
