What the Pole Sitters Said after Hyperpole at Fuji

Read what Alex Lynn and Francois Heriau had to say after claiming pole positions at Fuji today....

Alex Lynn, No.2 Cadillac Racing V-Seies.R Hypercar

“We've been very close many times. I still have nightmares of that Le Mans and losing it by a tenth, so I was just super motivated this season to actually get a pole position for the team, because I think this car is very good over one lap, and we've worked hard to make it so as well.

“There is no doubt, in these races, where nothing's given for free, you can start up the front it's a really big advantage. The tyre preparation has been a very big part of extracting the maximum over one lap, the way you treat them, and the warm up cycle and everything is crucial. It was close, we are talking thousandths of a second here. I think everyone was within two tenths of all the main contenders. That's not a lot of that time to be, to be between us all."

Francois Heriau, No.55 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3

“The two last laps of the Hyperpole session felt really good and I was able to reproduce what I did also in qualifying. So, it felt really good in the car, because I knew from my engineer that I was a few tenths behind, and then I just pushed the maximum for the last two laps. I'm really glad I was able to capture this pole position today.

“We've been a bit unlucky of sometimes as we showed good pace from the beginning of the year. We were quite close to the podium sometimes but just a bit of lack of luck, but performance wise, we showed good things from the beginning of the year and on my side, on my personal side, I'm still getting up to speed, because I'm a rookie in GT three this year, so every race I get better and better.

“So, it's good to be on board for this for this race.”
