IMSA and the FIA WEC, after much close collaboration, have released a revised schedule for the second edition of the Super Sebring weekend which features the 1000 Miles of Sebring - round 6 of WEC Season 8 (18-20 March).
With such a packed timetable of practice, qualifying and racing for all the championships involved, the health and well-being of the many track and pit marshals, officials, circuit staff and indeed competitors has been foremost in the minds of the organisation team. To reduce the extremely long hours seen at the first Super Sebring event in March 2019, the two organising bodies have both made compromises to their usual length of track time and the schedule has been adjusted to benefit all concerned.
As a result, the WEC’s 1000 Miles of Sebring on Friday 20 March race will take place three hours earlier than last year, with the race due to start at 12 midday and finishing at dusk. The chequered flag will be waved at 8:00 pm local time. Other changes to the schedule include a reduction in WEC free practice sessions of one hour each.
IMSA’s headline 12 Hours of Sebring will commence the next morning at 10h40 to complete for North American fans an enthralling double-header of sportscar action at the famous Sebring International Raceway in Florida.
