Porsche mène à mi-course à Spa

Après s’être élancée des trois premières places, l’équipe Porsche occupe toujours la tête des 6 Heures de Spa-Francorchamps au terme de la première moitié de la course. La Porsche 919 Hybrid n°19 pilotée par Brendon Hartley avait pris le meilleur départ. Mais après trois heures, c’est la Porsche n°18 de Romain Dumas qui pointait en tête devant l’Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°7 d’Andre Lotterer.

La Porsche d’Hartley recevait un stop & go en guise de pénalité après être passée par une échappatoire en manquant le freinage du dernier virage. La voiture devait ensuite passer un tour à son stand pour solutionner un problème de suspension arrière.

La Porsche n°19 de Nick Tandy rentrait également dans son garage en début de course. La carrosserie de la 919 Hybrid avait été endommagée dans une collision avec la Porsche 911 n°91 pilotée par Kevin Estre. La partie avant était remplacée en moins de quatre minutes.

Les Audi n°7 et n°8 progressaient sans le moindre problème. Les deux voitures se suivaient aux deuxième et troisième positions, avec un tour d’avance sur la Toyota n°1 d’Anthony Davidson.

En LM P2, un départ anticipé de la Gibson-Nissan JOTA Sport n°38 d’Harry Tincknell entraînait un drive through. L’Anglais effaçait vite le retard accumulé grâce à une brillante performance au volant. Et si la Ligier-Nissan G-Drive n°26, qui s’était imposée à Silverstone, avait récupéré la première place, Tincknell et Mitch Evans, qui lui avait succédé au volant, reprenaient rapidement la tête de la catégorie.

Au terme de la troisième heure, la Gibson JOTA Sport n°38 pointait en tête devant les Ligier G-Drive n°26 et n°28.
