Peugeot confirms driver line-up for 2024 Hypercar class

Peugeot TotalEnergies will return to the FIA WEC’s headline Hypercar category in 2024 and the French-based squad have confirmed its complete driver line-up.

Sharing driving duties in the No. 93 Peugeot 9X8 will be an unchanged line-up consisting of Mikkel Jensen (Denmark), Nico Muller (Switzerland) and Jean-Eric Vergne (France).

Former Formula E World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne (Belgium) will join the team as full-time WEC driver in 2024 piloting the team’s second No. 94 car alongside Paul Di Resta (UK) and Loic Duval (France). Vandoorne was a reserve driver for Peugeot TotalEnergies in 2023 and replaces American Gustavo Menezes who left the squad last season.

Denmark’s Malthe Jakobsen will remain the team’s reserve driver. After being named Official Junior Driver in 2023, Jakobsen will continue his growth with Peugeot in 2024.

Olivier Jansonnie – Peugeot Sport technical director: “The standard in the FIA WEC is such that you cannot afford to neglect any aspect and so we have worked during the off-season on trying to improve everywhere we can. The make-up of the crews is an important piece of the jigsaw and having studied race and test data, we were convinced we could fine-tune the line-ups. We are lucky to have six highly talented drivers, so we decided to optimise each car by grouping together the drivers in terms of their set-up preferences, the aim being to deliver improved performance.”
