Proton Competition reveals Ford Mustang LMGT3 livery and driver line-up

Proton Competition has confirmed its full driver line-up and liveries for its pair of Ford Mustang LMGT3 cars that will compete in this year’s FIA WEC.

The blue No. 77 Ford Mustang LMGT3 car (pictured below) will make its WEC debut with Ryan Hardwick (USA), Zacharie Robichon (Canada) and Ben Barker (UK) behind the wheel.

The second Proton Competition Mustang livery (below) has also been unveiled with a black and gold colour scheme. Sharing driving duties in the No. 88 Mustang GT3 will be Giorgio Roda (Italy), Mikkel Pedersen (Denmark) and Dennis Olsen (Norway).

In 2024, the WEC will consist of two classes: Hypercar and the all-new LMGT3 category. The latter replaces the LMGTE class that has been on the WEC grid since the series' inaugural season in 2012. The new GT class will be based around FIA's existing GT3 technical platform and will continue to focus on gentlemen drivers.

The LMGT3 class will be made up of 18 entries in its inaugural season, encompassing nine global marques - Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, Lamborghini, Huracan, McLaren and Porsche.

The 2024 WEC season kicks off with the traditional Prologue (pre-season testing) in Qatar from 24/25 February with round one – the Qatar 1812km - the following week (1-2 March).
