Bahrain atmosphere building

The scene is being set in the atmospheric location of the Bahrain International Circuit for this weekend’s dramatic conclusion to the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

For one last time this season the teams and drivers are getting ready for the final chapter as three classes get ready to crown new champions. The atmosphere was building today as the cars and teams went about their final preparations before Free Practice begins on Thursday afternoon.

The 5.412kms Bahrain track has produced some unforgettable action in previous years. Will lap records be broken? Will the No.2 Porsche get over the ‘championship line’ and who will triumph in the incredibly close LMGTE Pro category.

The start of the weekend started in the most convivial and traditional way as the WEC family ambience went into full swing with the traditional Bahrain paddock BBQ hosted by Sheikh Salman Bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahrain International Circuit. The entire paddock was out in force for one last social catch up before the serious business on track roars in to action on Thursday morning.

The final stopwatch of the year is about to start ticking.
