Congfu Cheng to join Rebellion Racing for 6 Hours of Shanghai

The Swiss-owned, British-based Rebellion Racing has announced via Twitter that Chinese driver Congfu (Frankie) Cheng will be joining season regulars Andrea Belicchi and Harold Primat in the No.13 Lola- Toyota for the 6 Hours of Shanghai.

Cheng, who began his racing career in Britain and has competed in formulas as varied as the F3 Euroseries, A1 Grand Prix – for Team China – and DTM, has considerable endurance experience in both prototypes and GT cars.

He became the first Chinese driver to participate, finish and score a class podium in the 24 Hours of Le Mans when his Saulnier Team Pescarolo finished third in the LMP2 class of the 2008 event.  He went on to participate in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, and last year was teamed with former F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen in a Mercedes-Benz SLS at the 6 Hours of Zhuhai, a round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
