Danny Watts: 100% British
Winner of the LMP2 class two years ago, Danny Watts still shares the car with team mates Jonny Kane and Nick Leventis, but this year team Strakka have arrived in the LMP1 class with the #21 Strakka Racing HPD ARX 03a. The British driver would love to repeat the feat, especially since the Le Mans race is on the calendar of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Danny Watts, nr21 Strakka Racing HPD ARX 03a-Honda (LMP1): "It's a really big week. We have a big motor race, we have a lot of football and we at Strakka, based at Silverstone, a totally British team are flying the flag at the 24 Hours. I think having the Le Mans 24 Hours as part of the World Endurance Championship is essential and also having double points means it is very important to finish the race. That means no heroics, you keep going at your own pace, don't get involved in other peoples mistakes, just run your own race. That's what we did two years ago and we won LMP2. We have a decent amount of experience at this race and we can do a good job next weekend. “
"I hope we get a lot of support from the British fans travelling here. We know they are down for other reasons as well and what a great week they have ahead of them because I'm sure Le Mans 2012 is going to be a great event."
