Fateful morning for Felbermayr-Proton

Same cause and same result for both Porsches of the Felbermayr-Proton team (LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am) in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship: broken gearbox and retirement. Following the success of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the German team were aiming for a podium finish, but fate decided otherwise.

Team Felbermayr-Proton, who were tied on points with AF Corse in LMGTE Pro have dropped behind after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, while in LMGTE Am, they lost the lead and dropped to third place .

Marc Lieb, Porsche No.77 (LMGTE Pro): "I was back on track after refueling and I was accelerating when suddenly it was not shifting. I rolled down the Mulsanne Straight and I stopped at the second chicane. Unfortunately, all attempts to restart were unsuccessful. It's a shame because we will will score no Championship points. We encountered some minor problems but nothing serious. We could have envisioned a place on the podium. "

Christian Ried, Porsche No.88 (LMGTE Am): "It's a shame for our team who worked hard for a good result at Le Mans. Particularly because the double points are awarded for the Championship at the finish of this race. But we are only mid-season and we will do everything to catch up at the next round. "
