First rally and first win for Julien Jousse
After Stephane Sarrazin, Romain Dumas, Simon Pagenaud and Richard Lietz, Julien Jousse has also tasted the joys of rallying in the "Rallye des Roches Brunes" at Roquebrune-sur-Argens, his native district in south of France. The winner of the Prix Jean Rondeau in 2009, the award for best newcomer at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has discovered a very different discipline from endurance.
"The motivation remains the same", said Julien Jousse, "I discovered a whole new world behind the wheel. Obviously, I had to adapt to the pace notes of the co-driver, but the biggest change for me is reading the road. Indeed, I had to get used toroads that get dirty as and as the cars come through, then the changes in grip throughout a special stage... In fact, we must constantly anticipate! "
After a podium in the FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMP1 class (sixth overall) in the Sebring 12 Hours, Julien Jousse iwill inaugurate the new Pescarolo 03 on the 5th of May, a car whose Provençal driver has high hopes: "The priority is first and foremost my endurance programme with the Pescarolo Team. Henri's team is preparing a new car with which we can do great things, I'm sure! That said, I will not say no to a drive in the French Rally Championship... "
Will Julien Jousse follow in the wheel tracks of Stephane Sarrazin, France Rally Champion in 2004? In the meantime, he will race the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (tickets here), the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, along with Emmanuel Collard and Jean-Christophe Boullion.
