Hybrid braking zones for the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo
The FIA WEC field is assembled in Brazil this week for the start of the second half of the season, the 6 Hours of São Paulo on Sunday 1st September.
As is the case at every round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, specified ‘braking zones’ are determined for each circuit for the hybrid-powered Audi and Toyota entries. These are the areas in which the energy recuperation hybrid technology can be employed.
For the 15 turn, 4.309 km (2.676 mile) Autódromo José Carlos Pace circuit, also known by its former name, Interlagos, host to the fourth round of the championship, the five pre-determined braking zones will be at Turns 1, 4, 8, 10 and 12. The entry of each zone will be considered as at the 50m board before the curve.
