The WEC celebrates its women!
The FIA WEC hosted a special celebration for all the women working in its World Championship paddock at the Circuit of The Americas (CoTA) in Austin, Texas, last night.
The cocktail evening, which was held two weeks ahead of the upcoming International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March, was attended by over 50 females who work in a variety of different roles for the WEC.
Women who attended the event included team managers, race mechanics, engineers, marketing, PR and catering personnel – all playing a pivotal role in the WEC and crucial to the ongoing success of the championship.
Now the men and women of the WEC paddock will turn their attention to today’s track action which got underway at 08h00 with the first practice session. Tomorrow’s 6-hour race, round 5 of WEC Season 8, will commence at 12h00 local time.
