Leena Gade receives award from Britain's Motor Sport Association
Leena Gade, the Le Mans and championship-winning engineer with Audi Sport, on Saturday received a prestigious trophy at the annual awards evening held by Britain's Motor Sports Association, the UK's governing body for motorsport, at the Royal Automobile Club in London.
The Briton was presented with the Lord Wakefield Trophy by the British Women Racing Drivers’ Club (BWRDC), honouring her commitment to motorsport and her consistently high achievements and dedication. Showing equal commitment to furthering women's interests in racing, Leena is a member of the FIA Commission for Women in Motorsport.
The German-based engineer has led the driver squad of Marcel Fässler/André Lotterer/Benoît Tréluyer with Audi to victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans an amazing three times to date. With a track record of ten single victories, the driver trio is the most successful LMP1 combination in the WEC.
