Nick Leventis and the Shard

For most racing drivers within the FIA World Endurance Championship, competing on some of the world’s greatest race track, in some of the world’s fastest sports prototypes, provides them with enough of an adrenalin-kick. It seems this is not enough for Strakka Racing’s Nick Leventis.

The LMP1 driver recently successfully completed one of the longest abseils ever undertaken by a non-military individual by descending 250 metres (820ft) down the outside of The Shard in London in the company of none other than the Queen's middle son, Prince Andrew. The Shard is the tallest building in Western Europe, and Nick received training before his charity abseil from Britain’s Royal Navy Commando unit, the Royal Marines for whom he was raising funds.

Nick described it as “one of the most incredible experiences of my life.” Just wait until he gets to Interlagos!
