OAK Racing opt for Franck Montagny

It will be Franck Montagny, former Peugeot Sport driver who finished 3rd in the Le Mans 24 hours 2011, who will replace the injured Guillaume Moreau, (see article), at OAK Racing for the 24 hours 2012, third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Montagny has eleven Le Mans starts to his credit and with a second place overall best result in 2006 with Pescarolo Sport with Hélary and Loeb, and in 2009 at Peugeot Sport with Stephane Sarrazin and Sebastien Bourdais. He joined Baguette and Kraihamer, in the OAK Pescarolo-Judd #15 entered in the World Championship in the LMP1 category.

Montagny, OAK / Pescarolo LMP1 #15: "I am very happy to join OAK Racing, I was always attracted as much by the personality that emerges as the team's passion for endurance racing that drives Jacques Nicolet. This team has always performed well with whatever they have raced over time. On a personal level, I am pleased to participate for the 12th time in this legendary race. I hope we can do good work and pass the finish line in good position."

"The only downside is the team to arrive in painful circumstances, after the accident of Moreau. I myself have had a serious accident in the past and I can imagine how he feels. I know how, in addition to his injury, it is frustrating and difficult for him. "

OAK Racing have entered three cars for the Le Mans 24 Hours in LMP1 and LMP2, but only two competing for the entire Championship. In addition to the #15 car of Montagny in LMP1, the Morgan_Judd #24 driven by Jacques Nicolet, driver and team owner, Matthieu Lahaye and Olivier Pla, that set best time of the LMP2 class at the Test Day on Sunday , will be supported by the Morgan-Nissan #35 of David Heinemeier-Hansson, Bass Leinders and Maxime Martin, who will not score points in the Championship.
