Points chase still open across the classes

With four rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship remaining, the jostling for position in the various points’ classifications is likely to step up a gear.  There are still a great many points available and much honour at stake for manufacturers, teams and drivers alike.

Audi may have already settled the FIA WEC LMP Manufacturers’ Championship, but Toyota is looking for its first win.  Having scored its first points at Silverstone, with an impressive performance to second place, Toyota will surely be taking the fight to Audi in every one of the remaining rounds.

In the Drivers’ Championship the lead has been taken for the first time this year by the No.1 Audi crew of Andre Lotterer-Benoit Treluyer-Marcel Fassler, but the gap to their No.2 team mates Allan McNish-Tom Kristensen is just 4.5 points and the wily Scottish-Danish duo will be determined to reverse the positions at the earliest opportunity.

Rebellion has extended its lead in the LMP1 Privateers standings but HPD teams, JRM and Strakka Racing are on equal points behind them.  The Lola Toyotas have had the upper hand to date, but Strakka very nearly beat them at Silverstone and JRM is continuing to make great progress.

In LMP2, Starworks Motorsports is still leading the eight teams in the category but ADR-Delta has closed the gap to the American team thanks to consistent points-scoring in every round.  Starworks’ Venezuelan driver, Enzo Potolicchio, and Argentinian team Pecom Racing will be determined to show well in Brazil – their ‘home’ continent.

Barring the unexpected, AF Corse appear to have one hand on the title already in LMGTE Pro but there's real competition for second place between Aston Martin Racing and Felbermayr Proton.

In LMGTE Am, Larbre Corvette is still heading Krohn Racing and Team Felbermayr Proton but the French team’s exclusion from the Silverstone results has allowed the others to narrow its lead.
