Road To Le Mans – Track action begins today
The cars taking part in the Road To Le Mans race will have their first free practice session today.
The 38 entries for the Road To Le Mans, a special support race for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, take to the track of Le Mans today for the first time with the free practice session from 20h30 to 21h30. This session will give the drivers the opportunity to take their bearings on the 13.6 km Circuit de la Sarthe. After the set-up in the paddock yesterday, the drivers and team managers have had their mandatory briefing in the afternoon before getting ready for their first appearance in Le Mans.
The Road To Le Mans entry list has some famous names from the world of motorsport and especially here in Le Mans, such as former World Sportscar Champion and 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Martin Brundle, and Jan Lammers who won the big race for Jaguar in 1988. Britain’s Rebecca Jackson is the sole female driver on the packed grid driving the n°11 Ligier JSP3 Nissan of By Speed Factory with Spain’s Jesus Fuster.
Road To Le Mans is the second round of the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup, and you can follow the live on the website www.gt3lemanscup.com on Saturday from 11h10.
Live timing will be available on the website for free practice and qualifying.
