Serra replaces Pier Guidi at Ferrari for Bahrain
Next week’s 8 Hours of Bahrain, the final round of FIA WEC Season 8, will see a driver swap in the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo with Daniel Serra replacing Alessandro Pier Guidi.
Brazil’s Serra will join James Calado who is currently locked in a three-way battle alongside the No. 95 and No. 97 Aston Martin Racing crews for the 2020 LMGTE FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship.
AF Corse Ferrari made the decision to swap Serra for Pier Guidi due to a clash with GT World Challenge Europe where Pier Guidi is just a handful of points from taking the 2020 title.
Calado lies third in the driver standings with 131 points, 11 points adrift of Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin in second place. Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim currently top the GTE leaderboard with 157 points – 26 points ahead of Calado. A total of 39 points are available in Bahrain (including a bonus point for pole position).
